Outdoor Event Lighting in Los Angeles
Sunset is not the end of your event. It's our cue.
Southern California exists to host events outdoors, and every one of them faces the same moment: the sun goes down. What happens next is either a slow retreat toward the one lit doorway, or the property blooming into its evening self: canopies of light, glowing trees, safe bright paths, and a party that gets better after dark.
Outdoor lighting is the most infrastructure-heavy work we do, and the reason clients hire a specialist. Power where there is none, rigging where there's nothing to rig from, weather-rated everything, delivered as a design that looks effortless.
Signature Looks for Outdoor Events
The glowing property
Trees, façade, garden, and paths lit in layers. The whole estate becomes the venue, not just the patio.
Canopies over open ground
Freestanding market-light and twinkle canopies over lawns and pool decks, no attachment points required.
The lit tent
Perimeter glow, ceiling treatments, and entrance moments that make a rental tent feel like architecture.
The site visit is the design
For significant outdoor events we walk the property first: power locations, rigging opportunities, sight lines, where the sun actually sets. The design that comes back maps every fixture to a purpose: arrival, gathering, dining, dancing, and the photographs in between. It's why our outdoor events feel composed instead of decorated.
Safety is part of beauty
After dark, guests need to find the valet, the restrooms, and the step down to the lawn. Pathway and hazard lighting is built into every outdoor design we do. Done well, it reads as ambiance, not signage. Hosts notice the glow; we also count the sprained ankles that never happened.
The Lighting Behind the Look
Outdoor & Architectural
Trees, façades, pathways, and landscapes. Lighting that makes the whole property part of the event.
String, Market & Twinkle
Bistro canopies, string light ceilings, and starry-night twinkle installations. The most requested look in event lighting.
Uplighting & Ambient
Wireless uplights and color washes that set the tone of the entire room: warm, dramatic, or anything in between.
Outdoor Events Lighting: Common Questions
How does weather affect the plan?
Our equipment is weather-rated and our designs include contingencies, especially for tented events. Marine layer, June gloom, or a surprise drizzle won't stop the show.
The site has no power. Is an event still possible?
Yes. Between battery fixtures and quiet distributed power, we regularly light vineyards, beach-adjacent properties, and undeveloped land. Power planning is included in the quote.
How early do you need access to the site?
Depends on scale: a few hours for uplighting and pathways, a full day (occasionally two) for large canopy builds. We coordinate access with your venue or household in advance so it's never a scramble.
